Thoughts affect things

Research, as well as the experience of those who’ve utilized this learning, is showing that what and how you think matters.
What you focus on, you tend to create. The biggest challenge in shifting to
creatorship is learning to pay attention to what you are thinking. Effective creating begins with becoming aware of where you are focusing your energy.

Here are three simple but powerful and essential skills for mastering your creating potential. If you practice these on an on-going basis, you will be well on your way to greater effectiveness and well-being.

1. Learn to clarify your intention (e.g., for a project, an event, an interaction, a desired possession...)
  • What is the end-result you desire? Can you envision it fully, seeing it as if you already had it? Make sure you aren't choosing a means to the end you want. Don't compromise, let yourself know what is truly important to you
  • For what purpose are you doing this? What need(s) would be met if you had the end-result?
2. Focus on what you want. Since what you focus on you give your energy to and "grow,” are you focusing on the problems you don't want? Even when there are perceived blocks or problems, develop the skill of objectively seeing and understanding them but then refocusi on what you want before taking action.

3. Accept what is. Seeing current circumstances objectively (without anger, blame, fear, or judgment) at the same time you are holding a clear intention for what you want, allows you to take the right action. Resisting the current situation, wishing it were different, judging it, or pushing against it clouds your perspective and often leads to reacting to what is instead of creating what you want.
