Science over the past 60+ years has learned some amazing things. There are three consistent themes that can’t be ignored. EACH ONE REPRESENTS A PROFOUND SHIFT IN YOUR THINKING. These themes form the basis of creatorship.
The first theme is your thoughts affect things. This includes your body, emotions, other people, the physical world and the results in your life. Thought is an energetic force that can be consciously harnessed to serve you. What you think matters.
Secondly, life self-organizes. You are part of a one big system (the world) and its many sub-systems (organizations, family, communities), each of which is purposeful and interdependent. Your thoughts (and resulting actions) impact the whole, its well-being and its ability to survive. The consequences of your actions are often obscured because they are separated in time and space, yet you are an important part of one big living system. What you do matters.
And lastly, you become in relationship— that is, who you think you are and what you believe to be true develops through relationship with yourself, and the people and world around you. New possibilities can only emerge when your current ways of thinking are challenged, often when they are mirrored back to you through others. How you connect to others and to your own inner wisdom is a function of how you are––your energy and intention. Your being matters.
You are a creator-in-training, learning to harness your thoughts, see the world in systems, and understand the impact of your interactions and decisions. The challenge is to do this while you live and work in today’s organizations and in today's communities with today’s issues and opportunities.
I am Barbara Sliter and my work lies helping you build the awareness and skills necessary to effectively create and co-create at work and in your communities.
